I am interested in genomes and evolution. Currently, I am leading a research project at the Institute of Ecology and Evolution, University of Bern, Switzerland, funded by the Ambizione grant from the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF).
 
All the diversity of life, including of our own species, is the product of evolution, whereby DNA sequences carry heritable information across generations and provide the substrate for selection to act upon. My interests, broadly within the fields of Evolutionary and Population Genomics, include fundamental genetic processes such as mutation and recombination, the evolutionary history of life - in particular the spectacular African cichlid fishes, and developing methods and software for DNA sequence analysis.
